I still get stoned on good quality cbd flower idk why people dont think its worth while granted its not the same buzz but i need cbd daily and it helps me feel great. Im actually growing an outdoor legend og strain cbd in my garage its one of my faves ive grown it before.
when running so many plants do you still do any of the micromanaging techniques (LST, Topping, Defoliation)?
Get those lady bugs in the mail
I know those blue hills😍. Somewhere on the east coast?
Sequatchie valley TN Haygood Farms
Ahh I was close, very close, I live in Virginia, Shenandoah valley. Same blue mountains
It looks like the skagit valley.
Are you hiring??
I wish farming more on the back burner these dayz with the hemp market in the tank
Dang! I would think it would be better! This is awesome though! Farm has a nice view!
I agree the ground is better. But these auto flower Will finish in the trays if they become root bound so they are grown in a jiffy pods and this is not compatible for our NoTill mechanical transplanter. So it’s just easy to put them in the pots by hand. All the soil and containers are reclaimed from a greenhouse operation..
We plant the photo period no till in the ground 10 acres fertilized with chicken litter and lime plus cover crops. This is just a test plot of autos. They do fit In the transplanter as stated so I just put them in pots it’s a lot easier.
First, damn! That's nice. Curious though, why grow one strain?
I have Suver haze, special sauce, Hawaiian haze and lifter planted in the back field. The autos will be processed at the end season for biomass. It’s really just test plot never grown auto before. They seem finicky
Sorry but does that mean none of it gets anyone high?
Yeah unfortunately it’s hemp this is Tennessee we are still behind the times lol
No way! I'm surprised because when I saw autos I assumed it was for bud. Thought photo period would have been a better crop for hemp
It’s is I got 12,000 photoperiodic plants planted in the back field. Auto is test a plot really
TIL. Great it can be farmed there, not really easy where I am. Pity because we have great soil. Best of luck on the experiment
Super cool, always jealous of you guys out in the country.
Does cannabis grow better in the mountains? Asking because I saw a short doc on it growing well in the Himalayas, or at least there's a lot of em growing there in the wild
It’s grows like hell here good soil plenty of water but does not finish as well as out west too much humidity
Ahhh that makes sense, I'm assuming this is like "commercial" or not all for personal consumption I guess, trying to phrase it in a way that doesn't sound shitty lol.
If so I was just curious about how/what it was like to get started, like did you farm other crops before? Do you bring it to the farmers market (lol), or how did you go about like making connections to people who'd want to buy it wholesale?
I was a professional firefighter for the city of Chattanooga quit my side job to start farming hemp before I went fulll time. Turned my first crop into oil and wholesaled all of it the first year. Then we started a retail line Haygood Farms and Goodies Hemp. Farmers markets are a waste time for hemp. The days of processing hemp into oil for profit are pretty completely gone. If you want to get into hemp farming I recommend boutique flower small outdoor or indoor farming really you could do better growing tomatoes with the current market.
Awesome! thanks for the reply, don't plan on growing hemp, was just curious about how someone would go about it. Do you need any licensing or like certifications to produce & sell?
I do grow cucumbers, & tomatoes outside every year, have tried a few other veggies but I just really like cucumbers lol
As for cannabis, I'm on my 2nd grow (autoflowers) in a 3x3 tent inside, currently have 2 Jack Herer's & 2 Triple XLs (last grow I did Critical Gorilla autos), about 8.5 weeks since they sprouted and the fuckers are massive, learned so much from my first grow but still learning a ton. Can't wait for the next harvest!
True, growing in California we have mold problems during September October timeframe. That is why I am growing auto flowers so I can complete my grows before it gets too humid. I grow in a greenhouse to protect it from bugs and dew. I only grow for personal consumption.
It’s where indica evolved so you’d expect it to thrive there.
What size pots?
20s and 30
Hey man whats your best recommendation on autos considering I'm in New Zealand different seasons
Why not mulch the pots with woodchips so you don't have to weed at all?
How do you stop aphids??
I hope you’ve got a crew
Which side of the ridge are you? Tips on fighting humidity?
I would kill myself trying to defoliate and train each one of those lol
My mouth is watering
